ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — orange County Public Schools said as of Friday, August 21, they’ve had 21 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among students and employees.

Out of the 21 confirmed cases, 13 were students who had been on campus at 11 schools.

Those schools are as follows:

John Young Elementary

College Park Middle

Sunset Park Elementary

East River High

Lakeview Middle

Piedmont Lakes Middle

Rock Springs Elementary

Spring Lake Elementary

Ocoee Middle

Northlake Park Elementary

According to the Department of Health, they were all community-based transmissions, not at the schools.

The remaining eight cases were among school-based employees who’ve tested positive since Aug. 21. Those additional eight affected schools are:

Southwest Middle

Keene’s Crossing Elementary

Bonneville Elementary

Lake Como K-8

Lakeville Elementary

Clay Springs Elementary

Pineloch Elementary

Spring Lake Elementary

The district said the parents of students in all of the affected schools have received notification from their principals.

They remind parents not to send children to school if they’re not feeling well, if someone else in the household has tested positive for COVID-19, or if you have symptoms and are waiting for the results of a test.
